Picture Hanging Systems: Artracks gone back to school

Michael Freeman

Back to School with Artrack

A fire at the John Colet School in April last year meant that the school had to cancel their annual art show.  It’s been a year since the fire and they now have a new building.

Fix8 recently spent some time at the John Colet School installing Artrack’s Slimline and Gallery picture hanging systems. They used slimline and gallery tracks to cater for the differing size and weight of the art pieces and combined the tracks with the gallery hanging sets giving them a safe, solid and flexible hanging system solution.

The school’s new exhibition opens on Friday 24th May. There will be over 130 artworks on display including work from the students and both local and well-known artists.

Our installer spoke with the school’s Parents and Friends association president and art convenor Katrina Beissel who was very happy with the installation and excited about Friday night’s exhibition opening.

The commissions from the adult artists and profits from the children's artworks will go towards funding education resources at John Colet. Money will also go towards supporting the art therapy and play program at Manly children's hospice Bear Cottage.
